Terms of Service

The service

Picked.gg is an independent directory where anyone can list a Discord bot, and anyone signed in can vote for and review one. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord Inc. Listings are submitted by their owners; we do not vouch for them.

The site is run by a private individual rather than by a company. Reach that person at [email protected]; it is a mailbox somebody reads, not a ticket queue. Where a paid placement is involved, the seller is Polar rather than us — see Advertising below.

Your account

Accounts are created through Discord. You are responsible for what happens under yours. Using the site also means following Discord's Terms of Service (opens in new tab), and an account banned there has no standing here.

Listing a bot

By submitting a listing you confirm that:

• You own or are authorised to represent the bot.
• Its Discord application is set to public, so others can invite it.
• The description, screenshots and links describe what the bot actually does. Misrepresenting a bot is grounds for removal.
• You have the right to the images you upload, and they contain nothing unlawful or sexually explicit.

You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us permission to display it on this site, which is the only thing we do with it.

Voting and reviews

• One vote per bot per twelve hours, per account.
• One review per bot per account. Submitting again replaces what you wrote rather than adding a second.
• You cannot review a bot you own. This is enforced by the site, not by policy alone.
• Bot owners can reply publicly to a review. They cannot edit or delete one — a directory where the reviewed party controls the reviews is not a directory.

Vote manipulation — multiple accounts, automation, paying for votes — results in the listing being removed and the accounts banned.

The API

The public API is offered as is. Rate limits are published per endpoint and are enforced per token. Working around them, or using the API in a way that degrades the site for others, ends access.

Advertising

Paid placements are labelled Sponsored. Editorial picks appear under Editor's Choice and are not for sale — the two are separate systems, and we say which is which because a recommendation you cannot distinguish from an advertisement is worth nothing.

A booking is a slot, a start date and a number of whole weeks, at the rate shown on the pricing page when you request it. A later rate change does not alter a booking already made. The placement is delivered by showing your listing in that slot for the weeks booked.

Payments are processed by Polar as merchant of record: Polar sells to you, invoices you and handles the tax. Polar's buyer terms (opens in new tab) govern the transaction itself, and where they and these terms disagree about the payment, Polar's win.

Refunds and cancellation

A placement is not refundable once it has started. The inventory is a week of a specific slot: holding it takes it off the market for everybody else, and it cannot be resold afterwards.

Booking asks you to agree that the placement may begin before the fourteen-day withdrawal period for distance contracts has run out. That consent is what ends the withdrawal right for a service already delivered, and it is why the checkbox is there rather than buried in this page. Before a placement starts you may cancel it by email and pay nothing.

Nothing here removes a right you have by law that cannot be signed away, and Polar may refund a payment under its own policy whatever this page says. If a placement did not run, or ran wrongly, tell us and we will put it right or refund it — that is a fault, not a change of mind.

We may refuse or end a placement: an advertiser whose listing breaks these terms is refunded for the weeks that did not run.

Advertisers are treated as consumers rather than as businesses. If you are buying for a company you still get the same terms; we do not ask for a tax number or run a separate business contract.

Moderation

We can hide or remove any listing, review or announcement that breaks these terms. Hiding is reversible and is what we reach for first; deletion is not, and is reserved for cases that warrant it. Moderator actions are recorded in an internal audit log.

No warranty

The site is provided as is, without warranty. We do not guarantee that it will be available, that listings are accurate, or that a bot you invite behaves as its owner claims. Inviting a bot is between you and its owner.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when the text does. See also our Privacy Policy.
